Mr. and Mrs. Boland

Paul and I got married on October 24th. It has been a little over two months since we have tied the knot! We are living in Corpus Christi, TX. It is ten hours away from our families in Edmond, Oklahoma, but we like the slow paced lifestyle of this small town. Since we live about thirty minutes from town, we spend most of our time working in our yard, traveling back and forth to Home Depot and Wal-Mart, and taking Gunner for walks around the neighborhood.

Paul continues to enjoy working for EOG. It is a great company and I could not be happier that he loves his job as much as he does. We were invited to his company Christmas party and we had a blast with his boss and his fellow Landmen. They have been great to Paul and I. His company threw us a shower before our wedding.

The first two weeks that I spent in Corpus Christi, I took my time unpacking all of my things and all our wedding gifts! I also cleaned. . .ALOT!! I started substitute teaching my third week in the Calallen School District where we live. I enjoy keeping busy and spending my day with the teenagers at the middle school. They are so great!! I plan on applying to get an alternative certification so I can hopefully get a full time teaching job in the fall.

Here are some pictures from our wedding! It was such a beautiful day! Thank you to everyone that was able to come and share this day with us.

Fun Weekend!

Our family had a blast this past weekend. My parents and I drove to Austin, TX. to head out on Lake Travis. Fortunately, Paul lives about three and half hours away, so he was able to meet us there. We spent Friday and Sunday out on the lake. This year the water was extremely low, but we were still able to have a blast tubing and knee boarding. On the 4th, Paul and I headed to San Marcos to do some shopping at the outlet while the rest of the family rested at home. We went to church and ate a good home cooked meal. After dinner, we went to watch fireworks nearby. The fireworks were amazing! I can't believe that I am 23 years old and still love fireworks! Anyways we had a great time with each other.

In two weeks, my parents and I plan on heading to Corpus Christi so that I can see Paul and to move some stuff down there. My parents also want to see the house again. My dad might do some deep sea fishing and we might head to the beach! This summer is going by really fast! It will be over soon and the wedding will be here before we know it! I better finish planning!

My First Blog

Well I never thought that I would join the blog world, but since I will be experiencing a lot of changes in the next few months (getting married, moving to Corpus Christi, meeting new people, and hopefully finding a job) I decided that this will help keep my family and friends updated about our new life in Corpus Christi.

Paul and I bought our first house! It is in a wonderful neighborhood outside the city of Corpus about fifteen miles. We also live about twenty minutes from the beach. My sister and nieces came to visit us already and we had a blast playing in the sand and sunbathing! I will try to post some pictures soon! Where we live is called Calallen (although it is part of Corpus). We chose this area because of the people, the community, and the school districts, even though we do not plan on having kids while still living here, but who knows! In this part of Corpus Christi there is a Super Wal-Mart, a Chili's (which doesn't say very much because there is a Chili's everywhere), Hobby Lobby,Home Depot, and a very cute coffee shop right outside my neighborhood. There is also a quaint Catholic Church five minutes from our house. Paul and I already attended two Sunday masses while I was there, and we love the priest! I think that this is going to be a big change for Paul and I, but I think that I will like it and so will our wallets! The neighborhood is beautiful and very big. There are a lot of trees and hills. Its also really funny because teens drive their parents golf carts around everywhere. I have never seen anything like it. Anyways, I am very fortunate that we live in a nice safe neighborhood where children are always outside playing and people excercising. Another thing that this neighborhood has is a large amount of termites (yikes!) and cockroaches! No worries though because we already got the house sprayed in case anyone decides to come and visit us!

Paul and I have lots to do to our first home. We plan on painting the whole house. The family that lived there before painted very dark colors and we would rather have bright colors! We also have lots of work to do on the outside. Paul has been working very hard this week raking leaves and he gets his new lawn mower today! He is very very excited.

I can't wait to move there in October after our wedding. Paul and I had the best time cooking together and just enjoying living in our new home. We enjoyed it so much, I kind of thought about eloping and getting married in the Cathedral downtown, but we didn't!

Here is a picture of our first house! I never thought that I would be living somewhere that has palm trees!
